The Empire Club Foundation was incorporated on January 22nd, 1969 with the objective of providing an avenue for charitable and accordingly tax deductible donations to objects consistent with the objectives of the Empire Club of Canada.

Its objectives are to:

1. Promote interest in current and public affairs of both the national and international import; and,
2. Establish a source of historical information relative to economic, social, cultural, political and other aspects of Canadian affairs.

In practice, the Empire Club Foundation achieves these objectives through:

1. The publishing of our annual compilation of speeches to the Empire Club of Canada and its distribution to all libraries in Canada, and Canadian embassies and consulates, across the globe; and,
2. Maintenance of the Empire Club website.

The Empire Club Foundation supports itself through active fundraising which is generally held in conjunction with the publication of the Empire Club compendium of speeches as well as an annual $50,000 grant from the Empire Club of Canada.

John Koopman is the current Chairman of the Empire Club Foundation. Past Chairmen are David Edmison, Doug Derry, Reginald Lewis, Robert Hillborn and Bruce Legge. The Foundation's Treasurer is Richard Goodall. He was preceded in this role by his father Ron Goodall.

The Annual General Meeting of the Foundation board is generally held immediately (ie one hour) prior to that year's Past President's Dinner.
