Andre Pratte has been a journalist for more than 30 years. He has covered politics for most of his career, as a reporter, a columnist and an editor. He became Chief Editorial Writer at La Presse in 2001.
He has written six books on politics and the media. His most recen is a biography of Wilfrid Laurier, one of Canadas greatest Prime Ministers (Penguin, 2011).
Along with 11 other well known Quebecers including former Premier Lucien Bouchard, Andre was signatory to a manifesto which had a major political impact in Quebec, For a clear eyed vision of Quebec (2006).
He won the Canadian Newspaper Award for best editorialist in 2007, 2008 and 2010.
