Michael Chong is a five-term Member of Parliament for Wellington-Halton Hills.
He served in the federal cabinet as Minister for Intergovernmental Affairs and is known for getting his democratic reform bill passed as a private member’s bill, an unusual accomplishment.
He is running for leader of the Conservative Party to build a bigger party that reflects Canada and Canadians and that can win in 2019.
He was raised in Fergus, Ontario, where he now resides on a farm with his wife Carrie and their three sons William, Alistair and Cameron.
